Another day down, and as our sunburns and bug bites really start to take hold - we can't help but think of all of you at home... enjoying the snow. ;)
Our repairs crew and House #2 crew on the other hand - rocked AND rolled through their projects today. Repairs crew should be able to finish up for this family tomorrow morning, and the House #2 crew have already raised walls and put on a majority of the siding! Way to kill it everyone!
Meanwhile, back at the mission headquarters (the church) - framing the walls for the parish center is almost complete, and the mural of the SOLT logo for Fr. Scott is sketched out and ready to be painted tomorrow (assuming the forecasted rain doesn't wash off all progress that was made today.)
We began our day with a rosary and Mass at Divine Mercy parish (our home base for the week) followed by a quick, cold breakfast (cereal, peanut buttered bread, hardboiled eggs, etc...) and some coffee before breaking off into groups and heading to the work sites.
The crew's on a given worksite vary a bit from day to day, so I'll just give you the project list.
House #1 - in Belama 4 (project manager: Jay Stencel)
Repairs (railing and 4 windows) - in Belama 4 (project manager: Karl Klein)
House #2 - in Holy Emanuel (project manager: Cliff Anderson)
Parish center - on site of Divine Mercy Parish (project manager: Jason Klein)
Trinity Mural - on site of Divine Mercy Parish (project manager: Sheila Klein)

Unfortunately there was a delay in the delivery of some of our lumber today, so we weren't able to keep things rolling along as quickly as we would've liked. House #1 had to be put on hold until the lumber was finally delivered this afternoon so they could build the base frame and pour the footings. Everything should be in place, however, to continue building tomorrow!

Finally - Art camp over in Belama 4 was a huge success today! Over 20 kids came over to do crafts and play together.

| Art Camp in Belama 4 - we made "hugs"! |
It's hard to explain the contrast and conflict you feel in your own heart while doing crafts and bonding with these kids in the midst of a dilapidated, trash covered park you'd never step foot in if you were in the states... Watching 4 and 6 year olds playing and having fun, dancing amid the trash... inches away from stepping on the sharp edge of a piece of metal or in an old dirty diaper.
Anyway - please know that you all are in our prayers, and we hope you are well, despite the cold and snow. Many blessings, and please keep us in your prayers, as well!
In Christ,
The Belize Team
